Meet Dan




Dan is a passionate and driven trail, road and mountain runner. Coming to running relatively late after finishing his undergraduate degree at Loughborough University, Dan has rapidly improved. Dan earned himself a sponsorship deal to become a Salomon UK athlete in 2019 has been selected to represent England in Road and Mountain running. Dan is determined to excel on the international stage.


Dan studied to a masters level at Loughborough University whilst also working as a fitness instructor, strength and conditioning coach and as an assistant athletics coach. He then went to spend a winter training in the Swiss Alps.  


Dan is determined to fulfil his potential and help others reach theirs whilst truly enjoying the process. Dan is a Personal Trainer and Coach that takes a holistic and interpersonal approach to training.

Run Coaching

Dan is determined to help people reach their potential, enjoy the process, and enjoy running for life.


Dan's coaching is primarily based on feel; inspired by the teachings of Lydiard, Cerruty, and modern coaches such as Steve Magness and John Marcus. He aims to keep training exploratory rather than overly prescriptive and always adapted to the individual. ​Enjoyment of the process is key. Dan combines the latest sport science with the teachings of various coaches and is a devout student of the sport.

Strength and Conditioning is a fundamental part of Dan's coaching and training practice as he prioritizes becoming a good athlete over purely a good runner. This is important for longevity and for fulfilling your potential. Dan coached elite triathletes and runners at Loughborough University and worked as a fitness instructor, training a range of athletes. 

Dan has experience coaching elite level athletes but also complete beginners. Whether you are a road, trail or mountain runner, Dan is determined to help you achieve your goals in a holistic and sustainable manner. 

Dan offers:

  • Bespoke, individualised training programs for runners which includes strength training and 1-2-1 sessions if desired. 

  • 1-2-1 and group training sessions in Shropshire
